Scaled Agile Framework – a short overview
Developed in 2011 SAFe was developed with the aim of helping software development teams improve the quality of their products while also bringing them to market faster. Along with other frameworks such as LeSS (large-scale Scrum), Nexus or DAD (disciplined agile delivery), SAFe seeks to help professionals address the problems encountered when scaling beyond a single team.
It is based on a combination of agile and lean principles and address the following levels:
- Team
- Program
- Large solution
- Portfolio
By adopting SAFe companies get access to a framework which helps them efficiently develop software while at the same time keeping a centralized decision-making process which is necessary at the enterprise level. SAFe ensures that you always have a view of the big picture and therefore you can easily handle a coordinated strategy for large-scale and complex projects even when you have very large teams.
It is of particular benefit for organizations which work across teams because it makes it possible to coordinate them due to the fact that it allows standardized processes across teams. As a result they can avoid the most common challenges that appear when different teams need to work together.
You can learn how to use this framework to its maximum potential by taking part in our trainings. Check the table below for an overview of what we offer. By taking part in these SAFe trainings you can also prepare for the certification exam which opens up a plethora of professional opportunities, not to mention a better salary category.
