Description

Project management is an organized set of people, processes, and procedures working together to provide on-time, on-budget delivery of stated objectives with high-quality and satisfied sponsors. This training introduces you to the project manager’s perspective on the Microsoft Project. This set of software tools supports the management of all projects across an organization or enterprise project management. The training includes exposure to managing a project, which includes creating a Work Breakdown Structure, estimating task schedules and effort, assigning resources to tasks, monitoring the budget & work using earned value management, etc.

Participants are expected to demonstrate the correct application of the basic features of MS Project and complete tasks independently.

          1.1 Create a new plan and set its start date

              1.2 Set nonworking days in the project calendar

              1.3 Enter the plan title and other properties 

2. Build a task list (3 hours: 2h theory, 1h practice)

              2.1 Create tasks

              2.2 Switch task scheduling from manual to automatic

              2.3 Enter task durations and estimates

              2.4 Enter milestone tasks

              2.5 Create summary tasks to outline the plan

              2.6 Link tasks to create dependencies

              2.7 Check a plan’s duration and finish date

              2.8 Document task information      

3. Set up resources (2 hours: 1.5h theory, 0.5h practice)

              3.1 Set up work resources

              3.2 Enter the maximum capacity for work resources

              3.3 Enter work resource pay rates

              3.4 Adjust working time in a resource calendar
