The course is focused on the attendees who already have the skills of IS analyst and who have to communicate with representatives of the customer and to determine the place of information systems (IS) in the business processes of organization. The trainees already know how to correctly determine properties and formulate IS requirements; during the course they will learn to describe subject area and build business process models with UML visual notation.
Modelling the organization activity describes approach to business modelling, using the same visual “language” (UML), which is used during software development. Use of the same notation to describe business and information system improves mutual understanding between business analysts and development team. Business considerations can be clearly understood and included into the system requirements, which eventually leads to the system improvement. The course considers UML as a notation for describing the enterprise activity and connects business models with the information system models. The trainees gain experience of modelling the organization activity during several group exercises based on specific examples.
To form the trainees' knowledge and skills necessary to perform responsibilities of business analyst. During the course the trainees will form an integral view on the work with business requirements and business needs in the broad sense, in this case a special emphasis is put on the key factors of work with business requirements and project business goals that define the project concept as its key success factor.
