Do you want to plunge into the development process of requirements based on customer wishes? Want to try your hand at communicating with stakeholders? Want to apply in practice the knowledge gained during training courses? All this, and even more, you will get in our business game! During the game, you have to overcome classic obstacles that arise when working with a customer: unclear wording, the irrepressible desire to overblow project scope, constantly changing wishes, lack of interest in project success, etc. And all this against the backdrop of quickly passing time – after all, the game time is limited!
You will have to face a completely unfamiliar subject area, quickly understand it, and propose to the customer a balanced, technically correct solution. And at the same time to build constructive relationships with several stakeholders from the customer’s side. You will have to use your communication skills, experience in requirements management, their description and approval, and many other internal resources. As a result, you will have to “sell” your team's solution to the customer. Some things will be easier for you, and sometimes failures may occur. However, in a game environment, failures are not as painful as in a real project.
On the other hand, you gain real experience that will allow you to become an even more effective business analyst. Of course, this is only a game; the whole situation and characters are just fiction, but participants’ feelings are absolutely real! You will go through confusion and doubt, irritation and fear of failure to the joy of winning. A very creative and interesting adventure awaits you, which will make you more experienced, more resilient, and flexible in your real-life projects.
And one more valuable addition – feedback on the game results from colleagues, “customers,” and trainers. This is an opportunity to find out the customer’s flow of thoughts and motivation and to understand what your interlocutor really thought and felt during communication. This is an opportunity to understand.
